The OSUIT Campus Police Department is being recognized as hometown heroes by the Okmulgee Times and Henryetta Free-Lance for their dedication to maintaining safety, security, and preparedness on campus and in the surrounding community. Led by Director of Public Safety and Chief of Police Matthew Wooliver, the department plays a critical role in supporting learning, training, and daily campus life through law enforcement, emergency management, and other essential services.

The department has a team of full-time and part-time officers with a range of experience, as well as an Environmental Health and Safety Officer. In 2025, the department generated 85 official reports and provided over 75 vehicle assists to the campus community.
