The Eufaula Indian Community Center is hosting its annual Indian Arts & Crafts Gathering on Saturday, April 4th from 10am to 3pm. The event will feature a variety of handmade artwork and crafts from local and regional Native American artists, including beadwork, pottery, textiles, jewelry, paintings, and traditional crafts. Beyond just displaying the artwork, the gathering is an opportunity for the artists to share the stories and traditions behind their creations.
Why it matters
This event provides a platform for Native American artists to showcase their work and connect with the local community. It also helps preserve and celebrate indigenous art forms and cultural traditions that have been passed down through generations. The gathering fosters a sense of community and shared experience around the creative process and storytelling.
The details
In addition to the artwork displays, the gathering will include a chair volleyball game, a silent auction, and food and refreshments. The chair volleyball game, often described as 'volleyball in slow motion', is a way for participants, many of whom are seniors, to come together in friendly competition and camaraderie. The silent auction will allow attendees to bid on the artwork, with winners announced at 2pm.
- The Indian Arts & Crafts Gathering will take place on Saturday, April 4, 2026 from 10am to 3pm.
- The silent auction winners will be announced at 2pm on April 4, 2026.
