West Texas A&M softball team defeats Oklahoma Christian in first game, falls in second game

The #5 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M split their Lone Star Conference doubleheader against the #14 Oklahoma Christian Eagles on Friday. The Lady Buffs won the first game 15-7 in six innings, but lost the second game 11-5.

The details
In the first game, the Lady Buffs jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning on a three-run homer by Alyssa Leal. Oklahoma Christian responded with two runs in the third, but the Lady Buffs added two more in the bottom of the third. The Eagles took an 8-6 lead in the fourth with a pair of home runs, but the Lady Buffs regained the lead with a three-run blast by Kaitlyn Kuntz in the bottom of the fourth. West Texas A&M then broke the game open with an 8-run sixth inning to win 15-7. In the second game, the Lady Buffs took an early 2-0 lead, but Oklahoma Christian scored six runs in the fifth inning to take control and win 11-5.
