Central Ohio's Top High School Wrestlers Honored

The Dispatch has announced its 2025-26 All-Metro boys wrestling team, featuring five central Ohio competitors who won state titles. Two of the champions compete for Division II state champion Watterson, while one is from the Eagles' CCL rival, state runner-up DeSales. Brock Boyle

A junior at Watterson High School, Boyle won his third consecutive state title at 215 pounds, beating Napoleon's George Eggers by technical fall (21-5) in the final. Boyle is a two-sport standout, having also helped Watterson's football team win two consecutive Division III state championships.

Aidan Curry

A four-time state qualifier, Curry won his second state championship at 126 pounds, defeating Galion's Carter Trukovich 7-1 in the Division II final. Curry won the state title at 120 as a freshman at Watterson before placing fifth as a sophomore and third as a junior for Licking Valley, both times at 126.

Nico Esguerra

A junior at Coffman High School, Esguerra finished third at 157 in Division I, beating Wadsworth's Kyle Jardine 4-0 in his final match. Esguerra finished first at district and sectional and helped Coffman reach the championship match of the Division I state duals.

Ethan Frass

A junior at Liberty High School, Frass finished third at 190 in the Division I state tournament, beating Vandalia Butler's Jace Love 11-0 in the third-place match. Frass won district and sectional championships.

Evan Krooner

A senior at Watterson High School, Krooner battled back from his lone loss of the season to defeat Brecksville-Broadview Heights' E.J. German 4-3 in the third-place match at 215 pounds in the Division I state tournament. Krooner also won district and sectional titles.
