City officials work with restaurant to manage anticipated crowds and congestion

Mar. 25, 2026 at 3:00am

Chick-fil-A is set to open a new location in Marysville, Ohio on April 2. To ensure traffic flows smoothly, city officials are implementing a traffic plan that will close access to Connolly Street from Lydia Drive and direct all entering and exiting vehicles through the Lydia Drive entrance. Special duty police officers will also be onsite to help direct traffic.

Why it matters

The opening of a new Chick-fil-A location is a major event for any community, often drawing large crowds that can cause significant traffic congestion. Marysville officials are proactively working to mitigate these issues and ensure the grand opening goes as smoothly as possible for both the restaurant and local residents.

The details

Marysville officials plan to close access to Connolly Street from Lydia Drive and focus all traffic entering and exiting the Chick-fil-A restaurant on Lydia Drive alone. Signage will direct drivers coming off Delaware Avenue to follow Coleman's Crossing Boulevard, turn left onto Lydia Drive, and enter the Chick-fil-A parking lot. They will then go around the building and exit right back onto Lydia Drive. If traffic backs up, those entering off Delaware will continue north on Coleman's to the roundabout near the Nationwide Children's Urgent Care facility. There will also be special duty Marysville police officers onsite to help direct traffic.
