2 Area Wrestlers Compete at State Meet
Chesapeake and Symmes Valley grapplers exit early in Division III tournament

Two local high school wrestlers, Bryce Myers of Chesapeake and Enoch Patterson of Symmes Valley, competed in the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division III state wrestling tournament at the Ohio State University Schottenstein Center, but were eliminated in the early rounds. Meanwhile, Ironton senior Nate Sloan, a University of Rio Grande signee, was unable to participate due to a medical issue.

The details
In the 106-pound division, Chesapeake's Bryce Myers (41-7 record) was pinned by Cohen Meer (45-2) of Milan Edison in the first round. Myers then lost by pin to Brody Taylor (23-7) of Covington. In the 165-pound weight class, Symmes Valley's Enoch Patterson (32-5) beat Landyn Knacke (43-6) of Versailles with a 16-1 technical fall, but then lost 9-7 to Kayden Hendershot (32-14) of Black River and was pinned at 1:24 by Rafael Gross (43-6) of St. Paul.
