The Dayton Flyers men's basketball team is looking to end a four-game losing streak this week as they take on St. Bonaventure at home on Tuesday and travel to face VCU on Friday. The Flyers lost two games last week, falling to Rhode Island in overtime and getting blown out by No. 21 Saint Louis.
Why it matters
The Flyers have been one of the top teams in the Atlantic 10 conference in recent years, making the NCAA Tournament in 2022 and 2023. This current losing streak has dropped their record to 14-8 overall and 5-4 in conference play, putting their postseason hopes in jeopardy if they can't turn things around quickly.
The details
Against Rhode Island, Dayton led by as many as 15 points in the first half but couldn't hold on, losing 81-76 in overtime after committing 23 turnovers. In the loss to Saint Louis, the Flyers trailed by 17 at halftime and could never recover, falling 102-71 as the Billikens hit 10 three-pointers in the second half.
