Pratt's versatile skill set and length will provide a boost to Northwestern's backcourt next season.Columbus TodayNorthwestern has landed another transfer commitment, with guard LA Pratt announcing he will join the Wildcats. Pratt, a 6-foot-5 combo guard, comes to Northwestern from Northeastern, where he played the last two seasons. He is the fourth transfer portal addition for the Wildcats in the last four days.
Why it matters
Northwestern has been very active in the transfer portal this offseason, adding several key pieces to bolster their roster. Pratt's commitment continues that trend and gives the Wildcats added depth and versatility in the backcourt.
The details
Pratt played in just three games last season for Northeastern before suffering a foot injury that sidelined him for the rest of the year. The year prior, he started 29 of 31 games for the Huskies, averaging 11.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. Pratt is not a prolific 3-point shooter, but he brings length, athleticism and defensive ability to the Wildcats' lineup.
