The Cleveland Monsters fell to the Laval Rocket 4-1 on Saturday evening at Place Bell. Laval opened the scoring in the first period and added two quick goals early in the second to take a 3-0 lead. Luca Del Bel Belluz scored Cleveland's lone goal, but the Rocket answered with another power-play goal to make it 4-1. The Monsters couldn't capitalize on their third-period opportunities, and the score held to the final horn.

The Rocket extended their lead with two quick goals early in the second period, starting with Alex Belzile's power-play marker at 5:37, followed by Xavier Simoneau's tally at 5:58 to make it 3-0. Luca Del Bel Belluz broke through for Cleveland with an unassisted goal at 10:07 of the middle frame, but Belzile answered with his second power-play goal of the game to push the score to 4-1 heading into the final period.
