The Xavier Musketeers men's basketball team has secured a commitment from LSU transfer center Mike Nwoko. Nwoko, a 6-foot-10 big man, averaged 8.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per game for the Tigers last season.

Why it matters

The addition of Nwoko provides a needed boost to Xavier's frontcourt depth and interior presence as the Musketeers look to bounce back from a 15-18 season in 2025-26. Nwoko's size and experience will be valuable assets as Xavier aims to return to the NCAA Tournament.

The details

Nwoko, a rising redshirt junior, will have two years of eligibility remaining at Xavier after spending the past two seasons at LSU. He is expected to step in and play a significant role for the Musketeers, providing a physical presence in the paint on both ends of the floor.

  • Nwoko announced his commitment to Xavier on April 8, 2026.
