Geauga County commissioners have approved a $327,900 contract to upgrade the HVAC equipment at the West Geauga Senior Center. The board also approved a $134,600 design to upgrade the accessibility lift at the Patterson Center in Burton, a county-owned facility that houses senior services. The lift project grew beyond a simple equipment replacement after inspections uncovered additional problems, including a deteriorating hoistway, water intrusion and drainage failures.

The details

The Patterson Center lift project will include installing a new drain system, correcting the slope of the slab, addressing sump pump concerns, and adding an interior entrance so users do not have to exit the building to access different floors.
