Downtown Akron Partnership's popular Sakura Festival is set to return on Saturday, April 4 from 1-7 p.m. The free event celebrates the arrival of spring and honors Japanese culture, with the festival scheduled to coincide with the blooming of 472 cherry blossom trees along the Towpath Trail.

Highlights include dozens of retail and food vendors, live musical and cultural dance performances, story and history walks, tea and sake tastings, horticulturist walks, a bonsai display, guided painting, and Ikebana demonstrations.
