The Ariel Atom 4RR's supercar-slaying performance is expressed through a blur of color and motion in this abstract photograph.Queens TodayAriel Motor Company has unveiled the Atom 4RR, the most powerful version of its iconic lightweight sports car. Powered by a heavily modified 2.0-liter Honda four-cylinder engine producing 525 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque, the Atom 4RR can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.4 seconds. The car features extensive weight-saving measures, advanced suspension and braking components, and a sequential gearbox with paddle shifters, all aimed at delivering uncompromising track performance. However, this level of performance comes at a steep price, with each Atom 4RR built-to-order starting at $279,000.
Why it matters
The Ariel Atom has long been regarded as one of the most thrilling and driver-focused sports cars on the market, offering an unparalleled connection between driver and machine. The new 4RR model takes this formula to the extreme, delivering supercar-slaying performance in a minimalist, lightweight package. While the Atom 4RR is not intended for everyday road use, it represents the pinnacle of Ariel's engineering prowess and commitment to pure driving enjoyment.
The details
The heart of the Atom 4RR is a heavily modified 2.0-liter Honda K20 four-cylinder engine. Ariel has hand-built each engine, installing an aluminum alloy block, forged pistons and connecting rods, and a high-flow oil pump. The addition of a large turbocharger producing 1.7 bar of boost allows the engine to produce a staggering 525 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque. This power is channeled through a Quaife six-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shifters. The Atom 4RR's lightweight carbon fiber body and tubular chassis, along with adjustable Öhlins suspension and AP Racing brakes, ensure exceptional handling and track capability.
- Ariel unveiled the Atom 4RR in April 2026 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Atom model line.
- The Atom 4RR will be available for customer orders starting in the summer of 2026.
