The Oswego County Office for the Aging (OFA) is accepting nominations for its 2026 Senior of the Year award. Seniors aged 60 and over who are active volunteers in the community are eligible to be nominated until March 6. Selected seniors will be celebrated during Older Americans Month in May.

The details
Nomination forms are available on the OFA website and ask for basic information about the nominee and their volunteer work, as well as a photo. Once submitted, a committee will review the nominations and select up to two local seniors to be recognized by the Oswego County Legislature. All nominees will also be acknowledged at the OFA Senior Picnic in August. The New York State Office for the Aging will host a statewide recognition ceremony on May 26.
