The 'Euphoria' family pays tribute to the memories of three beloved members who passed away before the show's third season.NYC TodayThe Season 3 premiere of the HBO series 'Euphoria' featured tributes to actors Angus Cloud and Eric Dane, as well as executive producer Kevin Turen, who all passed away after the show's second season. Cloud, who played the fan-favorite character Fezco, died in 2023 from an accidental drug overdose, while Dane, who portrayed the cruel father Cal, died earlier this year from ALS. Turen, a frequent collaborator of the show's creator Sam Levinson, died in 2023 from a cardiac emergency.
Why it matters
The deaths of Cloud, Dane and Turen were tragic losses for the 'Euphoria' family and the entertainment industry as a whole. The tributes at the end of the Season 3 premiere were a poignant way for the show to honor their memories and the indelible mark they left on the series.
The details
In the Season 3 premiere, Fezco, the character played by the late Angus Cloud, is still alive off-screen. Eric Dane, who played the role of the troubled father Cal, completed his work on Season 3 before his death from ALS in February 2026. Kevin Turen, an executive producer on 'Euphoria' and frequent collaborator of creator Sam Levinson, died in November 2023 from a cardiac emergency.

The players
Angus Cloud
One of the breakout stars of 'Euphoria' when the series premiered in 2019, having famously been scouted off the streets of New York City. He played the role of Fezco, a drug dealer with a difficult and dangerous life who was also a kindhearted friend to Rue and Lexi.
Eric Dane
Starred in 'Euphoria' as Cal, the cruel and secretive father of Nate, who is a closeted bisexual and has a sexual encounter with Jules. Dane completed his work on Season 3 before his death.
Kevin Turen
A frequent collaborator of 'Euphoria' creator Sam Levinson. Turen co-founded Little Lamb Productions alongside Levinson's wife Ashley Levinson in 2018 and produced Levinson's other HBO series 'The Idol' as well as his films 'Assassination Nation' and 'Malcolm & Marie' in addition to 'Euphoria.'
What they’re saying
“There was no one quite like Angus. He was too special, too talented and way too young to leave us so soon. He also struggled, like many of us, with addiction and depression. I hope he knew how many hearts he touched. I loved him. I always will. Rest in peace and God Bless his family.”
— Sam Levinson, Series Creator
“I'm heartbroken by the loss of our dear friend Eric. Working with him was an honor. Being his friend was a gift. Eric's family is in our prayers. May his memory be for a blessing.”
— Sam Levinson, Series Creator
