Guard Daniel Faalele, who started every game for the Baltimore Ravens over the last two seasons, has agreed to a one-year deal with the New York Giants. Faalele is the fifth former Raven to join head coach John Harbaugh's staff in New York since the start of free agency.

Why it matters

Faalele's departure leaves the Ravens with at least two interior offensive line starters to replace from last season, as they also lost Pro Bowl center Tyler Linderbaum to the Las Vegas Raiders. The Ravens' offensive line struggled at times in 2025, and they will be counting on new offensive line coach Dwayne Ledford to develop and improve the unit to better protect quarterback Lamar Jackson.

The details

A 2022 fourth-round pick out of Minnesota, the 6-foot-8, 370-pound Faalele started every game at right guard for the Ravens over the last two seasons. However, he faced heavy criticism from media and fans, especially in 2025 when both he and left guard Andrew Vorhees struggled immensely. Pro Football Focus graded Faalele 52nd out of 79 qualified guards in 2025 and 45th out of 77 qualified in 2024.

  • Faalele agreed to a one-year deal with the Giants on April 9, 2026.
  • Faalele started every game for the Ravens over the last two seasons, in 2024 and 2025.

What they’re saying

“While the Ravens are still figuring out what their interior offensive line will look like in 2026, former starting right guard Daniel Faalele became the latest player to follow John Harbaugh to New York.”

What’s next

The Ravens will need to address their offensive line needs in the upcoming NFL Draft, with the 14th overall pick. They are expected to target an interior offensive lineman to replace Faalele and Linderbaum.

The takeaway

The departure of Daniel Faalele and Tyler Linderbaum leaves the Ravens with significant holes to fill on their offensive line. The team will be relying on new offensive line coach Dwayne Ledford to develop and improve the unit, while GM Eric DeCosta will likely use an early draft pick to fortify the interior of the line.
