Black Girls Code, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering the next generation of women in technology, has announced the launch of its 2026 summer camp program. The camps, offered in partnership with Endless Access, a game-making studio and learning hub, will provide hands-on coding instruction, leadership development, and industry speaker sessions for girls aged 10-17 across the United States.
Why it matters
Black Girls Code's summer camps aim to address the gender gap in the tech industry by providing underrepresented girls with access to STEM education and mentorship. The camps focus on game development and AI, two rapidly growing fields that offer promising career opportunities for young women.
The details
Participants in the camp will learn how to create engaging player experiences by designing their own game assets, including sound effects, narrative elements, skill trees, and gameplay loops. The program will also integrate a leadership development curriculum in partnership with Lean In Girls. In addition to coding instruction, the camps will feature industry speaker sessions where leaders will share their expertise in AI, coding, gaming, and other STEAM fields.
- The camps will launch in June 2026 and run through August 2026.
- There will be two virtual camps, one from August 4-6 and another from July 7-9, 2026.
