Yves Saint Laurent and Photography Exhibition Opens at ICP

This summer, the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York City will present an exhibition dedicated to the integral relationship between fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent and the art of photography. The exhibition will feature approximately 300 works from the photographic collection and archives of the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris, tracing a four-decade journey through the evolving relationship between fashion and photography.

The exhibition will showcase the work of some of the most iconic fashion photographers, highlighting their contribution to Yves Saint Laurent's rise to success and charting the creative trajectory that took place during a pivotal era in fashion and art. The display of over 200 additional objects, including contact sheets, promotional materials, and magazines, will offer a behind-the-scenes insight into the couturier's processes and the evolution of the fashion industry.

The exhibition at the ICP will include works by renowned photographers such as Richard Avedon, Cecil Beaton, Guy Bourdin, Robert Doisneau, Horst P. Horst, Dominique Issermann, William Klein, Tom Kublin, Helmut Newton, Irving Penn, Paolo Roversi, and David Seidner. Alongside the photographs, the exhibition will also display over 200 objects from the collections and archives of the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris, dating from the same period.
