The next live-action Spider-Man series, Spider-Noir, is set to premiere in May 2026 on MGM+ and Prime Video. Instead of Peter Parker, this version of the web-slinger will feature Ben Reilly, a world-weary, retired superhero turned private investigator, in a gritty 1930s New York. Showrunner Oren Uziel has revealed that Reilly will be aided by two key allies, Janet and Robbie, forming a three-person crime-fighting team.
Why it matters
Spider-Noir will offer a fresh take on the Spider-Man mythos, exploring a more cynical and guarded version of the character in the backdrop of the Great Depression. The supporting characters of Janet and Robbie are expected to play crucial roles in keeping Reilly grounded and helping him investigate the various villains he'll face, including Electro, Silvermane, Molten Man, Sandman, and the second live-action Black Cat.
The details
Ben Reilly, played by Mike Colter, is a former superhero who has become a world-weary private investigator. He'll be joined by Karen Rodriguez as Janet, Reilly's sharp and loyal secretary, and Lamorne Morris as Robbie Robertson, Reilly's best friend and a dedicated freelance journalist. The trio will work together to solve cases and confront the villains plaguing 1930s New York.
