QuickChek, a New Jersey-based convenience store chain, has announced plans to expand into Upstate New York's Capital Region, with proposals for up to 8 new locations in areas like Colonie, Brunswick, Latham, Halfmoon, and Clifton Park.
Why it matters
The expansion will give residents in the Capital Region more convenience store options, as the area is currently dominated by chains like 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stewart's Shops. QuickChek's entry into the market could increase competition and provide consumers with more choices for fresh coffee, snacks, and made-to-order food.
The details
QuickChek has already received approval for two new locations - one on Wolf Road in Colonie and another on Hoosick Road in Brunswick. The company is also proposing three additional stores in Colonie, as well as locations in Latham, Halfmoon, and Clifton Park. QuickChek sells gas, coffee, snacks, and both ready-made and made-to-order food items.
