Dyson has launched the Dyson Spot+Scrub™ Ai, its first robotic vacuum engineered for both wet and dry floor cleaning. The robot uses advanced AI-powered object recognition to detect and eliminate stubborn stains, going over them repeatedly until they are removed. It features a self-cleaning microfiber wet roller that delivers fresh, heated water to lift and remove dirt, with the roller cleaning itself on every rotation to ensure only clean fibers touch the floor.
Why it matters
Dyson's new robot vacuum represents the latest advancement in home cleaning technology, combining powerful suction, intelligent stain detection, and a self-cleaning wet roller to provide a comprehensive cleaning solution. As more consumers seek convenient and effective ways to maintain their homes, the Spot+Scrub™ Ai could appeal to those looking for an automated cleaning system that goes beyond basic vacuuming.
The details
The Dyson Spot+Scrub™ Ai uses a three-step cleaning process: it first detects stains and dirt using a high-resolution camera and green illumination, then reacts and adapts its cleaning behavior in real-time, and finally checks the floor again to ensure the stain is fully removed. The robot can recognize nearly 200 types of household objects and obstacles, allowing it to navigate homes efficiently. Users can also initiate spot cleans via the MyDyson™ app. The robot's self-cleaning wet roller features a 12-point hydration system that delivers fresh, heated water as it cleans, with the roller mechanism automatically extending to reach edges and skirting boards.
- The Dyson Spot+Scrub™ Ai is available starting March 12, 2026.

What they’re saying
“Dyson engineers have been developing robotic cleaners since the 1990s. We revealed the first DC06 in 2001 and have continued to develop vision technology since then. Now we have engineered a robot that intelligently detects, identifies, and cleans stains, spills and debris, identifying stubborn stains and going over and over them until they are gone, using advanced AI. It is a determined, intelligent, and adaptable machine!”
— James Dyson, Founder of Dyson
“We first developed robot vacuum cleaners to remove the daily chore of vacuuming, now we are removing the need to manually wash your floors by expanding our robot category to wet and dry all in one cleaning. By combining LiDAR room scanning technology and camera vision systems, the Spot+Scrub™ Ai is able to detect stains and accurately navigate around obstacles, while vacuuming and washing your floors. It continually adapts its cleaning patterns based on real-time detection of debris, sticky spills, and stains.”
— Jake Dyson, Chief Engineer, Dyson
What’s next
