Sushi Nakazawa's DoorDash-Exclusive Omakase Expands to New York

Hi Dozo, the delivery-only sushi concept, plans to open a brick-and-mortar location in Midtown Manhattan.

Published on Mar. 10, 2026

Hi Dozo, the delivery-only sushi restaurant from chef Daisuke Nakazawa of Sushi Nakazawa, is expanding to New York City. The new location near Rockefeller Center is expected to open in approximately eight months and will offer the brand's signature sushi boxes as well as a limited selection of drinks. Hi Dozo operates exclusively through DoorDash and offers nigiri sets, sashimi, and rolls packaged in color-coded, modular to-go boxes.

Why it matters

The New York expansion marks a homecoming for Sushi Nakazawa, which opened its original location in the West Village in 2013 and became one of the city's most coveted dining reservations. The new Hi Dozo restaurant is meant to operate as a production hub for widespread delivery, keeping the Nakazawa name while offering a more casual and accessible sushi experience.

The details

Hi Dozo launched in Los Angeles in May 2024 and now operates out of a handful of ghost kitchens there. The New York location will be the brand's first brick-and-mortar restaurant. Sets range from $29 to $54, featuring six, eight, or 12 pieces of nigiri, accompanied by sides. A DIY hand roll kit is also available for $29.
