Active educators in Clinton and Essex Counties, including those in Lake Placid, Minerva, and Newcomb, are invited to apply for a $1,000 grant from the Retired Educators of New York (RENY) Northeastern Zone. The grant, named the Kramer Memorial Educator Award, is designed to assist educators in developing and implementing innovative programs or projects to improve instruction, academic achievement, or address current issues in their classrooms, schools, or districts.

A former professor and mentor to Education Majors at SUNY Plattsburgh, and a long-time devoted member of the Northeastern Zone of RENY. The grant is named in his honor.
