The Buffalo and Erie County Public Library is highlighting the city's rich Black history this February with a variety of resources and events for the community. From film screenings to discussions on local and national Black history, the library is providing opportunities for residents to learn about and celebrate the profound impact of African Americans.

The library is offering several events and resources for Black History Month, including screenings of the films "Two Wars: The Road to Integration" and "And A Shot Rang Out: A.J. Smitherman and the Buffalo Star." There will also be a screening of stories from the Buffalo History Channel. All events will take place at the Central Library in downtown Buffalo.
- The "Two Wars: The Road to Integration" screening will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 12 pm to 1 pm.
- The Buffalo History Channel screening will be on Saturday, February 14, 2026 from 2 pm to 4 pm.
- The "And A Shot Rang Out: A.J. Smitherman and the Buffalo Star" screening and discussion will be on Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 1:30 pm to 2:45 pm.
