ACV, a leading digital automotive marketplace, announced the launch of its VIPER (Vehicle Inspection Platform for Enhanced Reporting) technology at the 2026 National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Conference. VIPER utilizes high-resolution imaging and AI-powered vision solutions to automatically capture a vehicle's condition as it drives through the system, generating a consistent digital condition summary and real-time valuation offer for dealers to source inventory directly from their service lanes.
Why it matters
The service lane has traditionally been an underutilized acquisition opportunity for dealers, with inconsistent appraisals and limited time for staff to make offers to customers. ACV's VIPER system aims to standardize and streamline the appraisal process, empowering dealers to generate competitive offers for customer vehicles at scale and with precision.
The details
VIPER includes two vehicle imaging towers and an undercarriage scanner that can be easily installed in a dealership's appraisal lane or service drive. The system automatically captures vehicle condition data, including tire health and detailed damage assessments, and integrates with ACV's existing vehicle valuation and inventory management platforms to provide dealers with a comprehensive solution for sourcing inventory from the service lane.
- ACV is opening the next round of its VIPER Early Access Program at the 2026 NADA Show on February 3-6.
- VIPER has been in beta testing with a limited number of franchise dealers and ACV's own remarketing centers.

— George Chamoun, Chief executive officer (BusinessWire)
“Dealers tell us every day that the service drive is full of untapped opportunity. The technology we've built with VIPER makes it simple to put a number on every car with speed, consistency and confidence. It's the same inspection and pricing rigor dealers expect from ACV—now brought directly into the dealership.”
— Vikas Mehta, Chief operating officer (BusinessWire)
What’s next
ACV is expected to make VIPER more broadly available to dealers later in 2026 after the initial Early Access Program at the NADA Show.
The takeaway
ACV's VIPER technology aims to transform the service lane into a high-volume, high-confidence vehicle acquisition channel for dealers by automating the appraisal process and providing real-time, data-backed offers to customers, helping dealers source more inventory and retail vehicles faster.
