A 60-year-old New York state correction officer named Gregory S. Gorman has been arrested after a joint investigation by state police and corrections officials found he was bringing significant amounts of cocaine and heroin into the Cayuga Correctional Facility where he worked.

As part of an ongoing investigation, DOCCS investigators conducted a staff screening when Gorman reported for work on March 27. A narcotics detection dog alerted to the presence of drugs on Gorman, and a subsequent search found he was in possession of about 28.2 grams of cocaine and 10.3 grams of heroin packaged in 50 paper sleeves. Investigators also found additional cocaine in Gorman's vehicle.
