CIQ, the founding support and services partner of Rocky Linux, has launched Rocky Linux from CIQ Pro (RLC Pro), a commercially supported Enterprise Linux subscription that transforms how organizations consume production-grade infrastructure. RLC Pro bundles long term support, FIPS 140-3 validation, indemnification, security and support SLAs, and customer-driven, direct bug fixes as standard features, creating a clear path from community-based to mission-critical enterprise production.
Why it matters
RLC Pro addresses a long-standing market gap where enterprises choosing open source solutions accept operational risk, while those choosing commercial solutions often pay additional fees to unlock the features they need. RLC Pro eliminates this difficulty and risk by making these capabilities standard, delivering the support enterprises need while enabling them to focus engineering resources on business differentiation rather than operating system maintenance.
The details
RLC Pro represents a fundamental shift in what can be expected from enterprise operating systems, redefining the Enterprise Linux standard. It provides bundled long term support, FIPS 140-3 validated packages, and direct bug and security fixes from CIQ's engineering team to keep production systems running and SLAs met based on specific customer feedback. RLC Pro also offers Enterprise License Agreements to cover an organization's entire infrastructure, from core to cloud and edge.
- RLC Pro is available today from CIQ and through AWS Marketplace, Microsoft Azure Marketplace and Google Cloud Marketplace.
- RLC Pro will soon be available through the CIQ Portal, launching in the coming months.
The players
CIQ
The founding support and services partner of Rocky Linux and the leader in enterprise Linux architecture for sovereign AI inferencing at scale.
Gregory Kurtzer
CEO of CIQ and Cofounder of Rocky Linux.
Bjorn Hovland
President of CIQ.
What they’re saying
“AI is driving a true inflection point for enterprise infrastructure. RLC Pro brings together the infrastructure capabilities organizations need into a use-everywhere model that prioritizes efficiency, security and usability. We believe long term support, FIPS validation and direct, responsive engineering should be standard.”
— Gregory Kurtzer, CEO of CIQ and Cofounder of Rocky Linux (CIQ)
“The real transformation here is what this enables enterprises to do. Deploy in regulated environments immediately. Plan infrastructure investments with confidence. Free engineering talent to build products instead of managing operating systems. RLC Pro doesn't just change how organizations consume Linux, it changes what they can accomplish with it.”
— Bjorn Hovland, President of CIQ (CIQ)
What’s next
CIQ will be hosting a webinar on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 11am PT / 2pm ET titled "RLC Pro: Redefining what Enterprise Linux should be" with Director of Product Management Brady Dibble.
The takeaway
RLC Pro represents a significant shift in the enterprise Linux landscape, bundling critical features like long-term support, FIPS validation, and direct bug fixes as standard offerings. This eliminates the operational risk and additional costs often associated with open source or commercial Linux solutions, empowering enterprises to focus on business innovation rather than infrastructure maintenance.
