Flavor Flav, the Hall of Fame rapper, will host a Las Vegas event from July 16-19 to honor the U.S. Women's Olympic Ice Hockey Team's gold medal win at the Milano Cortino Winter Olympics. The event, called "She Got Game", will also celebrate other female Olympian and Paralympian achievements. Flavor Flav is a long-time supporter of women's sports and has started a GoFundMe campaign to back the U.S. women's Olympic medallists.
Why it matters
This event comes after the controversial celebration of the U.S. Men's Olympic Ice Hockey Team by former President Donald Trump, where he joked about also inviting the women's team. The U.S. Women's Olympic Ice Hockey Team had previously declined to attend Trump's State of the Union address. Flavor Flav's event aims to properly celebrate and support these female athletes.
The details
The "She Got Game" weekend event will take place in partnership with MGM Resorts. Flavor Flav announced the event on social media on Thursday. Funds raised through the associated GoFundMe campaign will go directly to the invited female athletes to support the weekend celebration and provide lasting impact for their futures.
- The event will take place from July 16 to July 19, 2026.
- Flavor Flav attended the 2026 Winter Olympics as the official hype man for the U.S. bobsleigh and skeleton teams.
