The UNLV Rebels basketball team snapped a four-game losing streak with an 80-78 victory over the Grand Canyon Antelopes on Saturday at the Thomas & Mack Center. Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn scored a game-high 29 points to lead the Rebels, while Al Green added 11 points in the win. UNLV led by as many as 13 points late in the game before holding off a furious Grand Canyon comeback attempt.
Why it matters
This was an important conference win for UNLV as they look to climb the standings in the Mountain West. Grand Canyon is in its first year in the conference and entered the game just half a game out of second place, so this was a key matchup between two teams vying for positioning.

The Rebels led by 13 points with 2:20 remaining, but Grand Canyon cut the deficit to just two points with 5.2 seconds left before UNLV was able to hold on for the victory. Nana Owsusu-Anane led Grand Canyon with 19 points in the losing effort.
