Retired University of Nevada, Reno biology professor Alan Gubanich brought a collection of over 300 bird specimens to the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center on Saturday for a special Family Day event. Gubanich, who has chaired the Lahontan Audubon Society's education committee for two decades, gave a slideshow presentation and allowed attendees to view the birds up close.

The museum currently houses 7 of the birds, with another 40-50 kept at Whit Hall on the River Fork Ranch near Genoa.
