The Boulder City High School girls basketball team fell to eventual state champion Churchill County 56-17 in the state tournament on February 20th. Despite the lopsided loss, coach Brian Bradshaw said the experience of playing in the state tournament will be a big motivator for the team's younger players going forward.
Why it matters
While the Lady Eagles were overmatched against the more experienced Churchill County team, the state tournament appearance was a valuable learning experience that will help the program continue to build momentum. With four starters returning next season, the team is already expecting to make another run at the state tournament.

What they’re saying
“The experience of going to state and getting a taste of it will definitely be a big motivator for our younger players in the program. It was a wonderful venue and our kids really enjoyed traveling up north as a team. There is a lot of value in now knowing expectations and what it takes to prepare for state games.”
— Brian Bradshaw, Head Coach (Boulder City Review)
“The Churchill team we played was a state team from last year and that was definitely an advantage for them. We were nervous and it affected our level of play early in the game. With four of our starters back for next year, it is already an expectation for us to return.”
