Doña Ana Community College (DACC) is hosting its annual Scholarship Riches event on February 17th, where 15 students will be randomly selected to each receive a $1,000 scholarship. This is nearly double the number of scholarships awarded at last year's event, which provided eight $500 scholarships.
Why it matters
The Scholarship Riches event aims to help make higher education more accessible for DACC students by providing additional financial assistance. With the rising costs of college, these scholarships can make a significant difference in allowing students to pursue their educational goals.
The details
The Scholarship Riches event will take place from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17th, inside the DACC East Mesa Student Resources building. During the two-hour event, there will be random drawings every half hour to award the 15 scholarships, each worth $1,000. The scholarships are provided thanks to the generosity of several local donors, including Mr. Randy Farmer, Dr. Don Cotter, FirstLight Federal Credit Union, Evon Bradley, and the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico.
