The West Texas A&M track and field teams will compete in the UNM Team Open in Albuquerque, New Mexico this weekend as they prepare for the Lone Star Conference Indoor Championships later this month. The Buffs and Lady Buffs will face off against several Division I programs at the high-altitude Albuquerque Convention Center, which has hosted numerous national championships. The teams are coming off strong early-season performances, with the Lady Buffs ranked 5th nationally and the Buffs ranked 11th in the latest USTFCCCA Division II indoor rankings.

The Buffs and Lady Buffs have already posted several NCAA provisional qualifying marks this season in events like the 60m, 400m, mile, 60m hurdles, 4x400m relay, high jump, long jump, triple jump, pentathlon, and heptathlon.
