The No. 7 seed Morristown boys basketball team hung close early, but No. 10 seed Ridgewood's balanced scoring and a decisive third quarter swung Thursday night's NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 1, Group 4 Tournament game, as the Maroons defeated the Colonials 64-41 to bring Morristown's postseason run to an end.

The Colonials (15-12) struggled to find rhythm against Ridgewood's pressure and pace, managing just seven points in the period as the visitors pushed the lead to 33-26 at halftime. The turning point came after the break, as Ridgewood opened the third quarter with a surge on both ends, holding Morristown to four points in the frame while adding 15 of its own to stretch the margin to 48-30 heading to the fourth.
