The views expressed here are the author's own. By David Yaskulka. West Morris Central wrestling junior state medalist Brody Neill nabbed his 100th career victory, becoming the fastest centurion in school history. The Pack is now 14-7 and in first place by power points in North Jersey Group 2, Section 2, which would mean a #1 playoff seed and three home matches for the championship.
Why it matters
Neill's 100th win highlights the success of the West Morris Central wrestling team, which is poised for a strong playoff run. The team's depth and individual standouts like Neill and Tommy Borgia have them positioned well for a potential sectional and state championship.
The details
In front of a raucous home crowd, Neill's 100th win came via a rapid 45-second pinfall against Old Bridge freshman Lucas Ruiz. Neill is only the third WMC wrestler to reach 100 wins as a junior, and the first to do so before the playoffs. The Pack showed off its depth this week, with 17 wrestlers contributing wins. Jonathan Cabarle, Jacob Harrison, and Tommy Borgia each went 4-0 to pace the team.
- On July 4, Quinn allegedly dove onto the hood of a Waymo vehicle and covered sensors.
- On July 29, Quinn allegedly damaged a Waymo's tires and driver's side mirror.
- On August 11, Quinn allegedly stomped on a windshield while someone was inside.
