The Miami Heat have won five straight games and eight of their last 10 to move up to the No. 7 spot in the Eastern Conference standings. Led by All-Star Bam Adebayo and Sixth Man of the Year candidate Tyler Herro, the Heat have been one of the league's hottest teams since the All-Star break, fueled by a fast-paced, high-scoring offense and improved defensive play.

Why it matters

After three straight seasons of having to fight through the play-in tournament, the Heat are now in prime position to secure a top-6 seed in the East and avoid the play-in altogether. Their recent surge has them knocking on the door of the conference's elite, and a strong finish could set them up for a deep playoff run.

Herro has also returned from injury to provide a major scoring boost, averaging 22.2 points on 50/45/94 shooting splits during this stretch. The Heat's revamped offense is now second in the NBA in scoring at 120.1 points per game, fueled by their fast-paced, unselfish style of play. Defensively, Miami has climbed to fourth in defensive rating, with the frontcourt duo of Adebayo and Kel'el Ware leading the way.
