After nearly a decade in Neptune City, the Fahnholz family is relocating their restaurant and bakery, Shore Good Eats, to the Bayville section of Berkeley Township. The new location, which replaces Acme Draft House in Berkeley Plaza, will offer more space for the growing business to expand its menu and bakery offerings.
Why it matters
The move highlights the challenges small, family-owned restaurants face in finding the right-sized space to accommodate growth, as well as the ongoing shifts in the local dining landscape as new eateries open and others close.
The details
Shore Good Eats started as a food truck called Shore Good Eats 'N' Treats before the Fahnholz family opened the restaurant in Neptune City in 2018. After eight years in the small Neptune City space, the family decided they needed more room to grow. The new Berkeley Township location will be double the size at 50 seats and will allow them to add dinner service and expand their bakery offerings, including cakes, cupcakes and giant sprinkle cookies.
