Delbarton (18-2) confirmed its status as the best team in New Jersey by winning the NJSIAA Non-Public A championship, defeating Christian Brothers Academy (CBA) 34-20 in the final. The Green Wave's only losses came against national prep powers Blair Academy and Wyoming (Pa.) Seminary. Delbarton defeated several other highly ranked opponents during the season, including No. 2 CBA (twice), No. 3 St. Peter's Prep, No. 5 Bergen Catholic, and No. 4 nationally ranked Faith Christian (Pa.) Academy. CBA (15-2) was the only other team to defeat Delbarton, with the Colts' two losses coming against the Green Wave. Southern (20-1) is the top-ranked public school, winning its fourth consecutive Group 5 state championship. The Rams' only loss was to CBA, but they defeated several other highly ranked teams, including No. 9 Delsea, No. 10 Howell, and No. 12 Mount Olive.
