Delbarton defeated several other highly ranked opponents during the season, including No. 2 CBA (twice), No. 3 St. Peter's Prep, No. 5 Bergen Catholic, and No. 4 nationally ranked Faith Christian (Pa.) Academy. CBA (15-2) was the only other team to defeat Delbarton, with the Colts' two losses coming against the Green Wave. Southern (20-1) is the top-ranked public school, winning its fourth consecutive Group 5 state championship.
