Residents can safely dispose of unwanted tires at upcoming collection events

Published on Feb. 23, 2026

The North Central RC&D, in cooperation with Keya Paha County and the Upper Elkhorn NRD, will be holding tire amnesty events in Springview and O'Neill, Nebraska, where residents can bring in unwanted tires for recycling at no cost. The events will take place over two days in late April and early June, accepting up to 400 tons in Springview and 700 tons in O'Neill.

Why it matters

These tire collection events provide a convenient and responsible way for residents to dispose of old tires, keeping them out of landfills and preventing illegal dumping. The recycled tires will be repurposed into various products, supporting a circular economy.
