Lincoln Police to Boost Impaired Driving Enforcement for St. Patrick's Day

As St. Patrick's Day celebrations approach, the Lincoln Police Department is reminding the community that luck should not be your plan for getting home safely. From March 13 through March 21, LPD will conduct a high-visibility enforcement campaign specifically targeting impaired drivers, deploying additional officers on overtime to patrol Lincoln's streets and proactively identify drivers under the influence.

In 2025, Nebraska saw a concerted effort to reduce alcohol-related fatalities, but alcohol remains a factor in a significant percentage of serious injury crashes in Lancaster County.
