The Valley City Barnes County Development Corporation is announcing a second year of funding for its Single-Family Home Buyer Assistance Program. The program supports the construction of up to 4 new homes within Valley City limits and up to 6 new homes in rural Barnes County, providing financial assistance to reduce permanent financing costs for eligible homeowners.

The details

The program offers up to $40,000 in assistance per new home constructed within Valley City limits, including up to $30,000 from economic development funds and up to $10,000 from the city's home buyer assistance fund. For new homes in rural Barnes County, up to $15,000 in assistance is available. Eligible homeowners must contribute at least a 5% down payment and the home must be owner-occupied. Acceptable home types include single-family, twin, town, and modular homes, but exclude rentals, manufactured, and mobile homes.
