Barnes County Residents Asked to Complete Multi-Hazard Mitigation Survey

Survey results will help identify gaps and assist in developing projects for the county's hazard mitigation plan update.

Residents of Barnes County, North Dakota, are being asked to participate in a survey as part of the planning process to update the Barnes County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan. The survey is available online and in hard copy format, and the results will help identify gaps in capabilities and assist in the development of projects for the plan. The plan is updated every five years as required by FEMA to establish eligibility for funding through the Hazard Mitigation Assistance program and other state and federal sources.

Hard copies of the survey can also be found at the NDSU Extension/Barnes County Office and the emergency manager's office at the Barnes County Courthouse in Valley City. The first Multi-Hazard Mitigation Planning meeting was held on February 4th, attended by elected officials from local government entities and city municipalities in Barnes County.
