Abram Wiebe, a junior defenseman for the University of North Dakota hockey team, has been named the NCHC Defenseman of the Week for the third consecutive week. Wiebe is only the second defenseman in NCHC history to earn three straight weekly honors, joining Denver's Joey LaLeggia in 2014-15. Wiebe was dominant on both ends of the ice in an unbeaten weekend against St. Cloud State, scoring a goal and recording three assists.

In Friday's 4-4 tie with St. Cloud State, Wiebe notched a pair of assists on both goals from teammate Will Zellers to help North Dakota rally from a multi-goal deficit in the third period. The next night, Wiebe scored the Fighting Hawks' first goal of the game to even the score at 1-1 before capping off a three-goal first period with a primary assist on Ollie Josephson's power play tally. Wiebe finished the weekend with a plus-5 rating and was not on the ice for a goal against, while also blocking three shots.
