Rocket girls set school indoor record at Cobber Indoor

Track and field season is officially underway, and the New Rockford-Sheyenne Rockets have started out on a high note.

The NR-S girls 4x200-meter relay team officially broke the NR-S indoor school record in this event, running a time of 1 minute and 51.35 seconds to finish in first place ahead of Class A schools like Fargo Davies, Devils Lake, Valley City, Shanley and Oak Grove. Emmie Belquist also topped all in the girls open 400 on Saturday with a new indoor personal best time of 1:02.47.

The NR-S girls 4x200-meter relay team – made up of Jaida Schumacher, Emmie Belquist, Ava Peterson and Kaci Weisenburger – officially broke the NR-S indoor school record in this event. Belquist also topped all in the girls open 400 on Saturday with a new indoor personal best time of 1:02.47. Along with Belquist, three other Rocket girls placed in the top five – Schumacher, Peterson and Weisenburger.

  • The previous NR-S indoor school record in the 4x200 was set back in 2023 with a time of 1:51.97.
