In a hard-fought MIAC women's basketball matchup, Concordia senior Molly Musland scored 9 points in the fourth quarter to help the Cobbers rally past Hamline 67-62 and clinch a spot in the conference playoffs. Musland finished with a game-high 17 points and 7 rebounds as Concordia overcame 21 turnovers to remain atop the MIAC standings with 4 games left in the regular season.
Why it matters
The win keeps Concordia in first place in the MIAC, one game ahead of St. Mary's and Bethel. The top 6 teams in the standings make the MIAC playoffs, with the top 2 seeds earning first-round byes. Concordia is looking to secure a #1 or #2 seed to give themselves the best chance at a conference title.

After Hamline took a 49-48 lead with 4:32 left, Concordia responded with 9 unanswered points, holding the Pipers scoreless for nearly 3 minutes. Musland scored 5 points during that key stretch, making 5-of-6 free throws by attacking the basket aggressively. She capped the run with a free throw to make it 57-49 Cobbers with 2:04 left. Concordia only had 1 turnover in the 4th quarter after committing 14 in the first half.
- The Cobbers (18-3, 12-2 MIAC) have won 4 consecutive games and clinched a spot in the conference playoffs with 4 games to play in the regular season.
- Concordia next plays at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at St. Catherine, which has a 6-8 league mark.
