Top-seeded Carrington defeats eighth-seeded Harvey/Wells County to move on in tournament

The Carrington Cardinal girls basketball team defeated the Harvey/Wells County Hornets 54-27 in the opening round of the Region 2A tournament. Sophomore Aniston Hoornaert scored a game-high 20 points for the Cardinals, who led by as many as 25 points in the second half. Carrington will face Four Winds-Minnewaukan in the regional semifinals on Tuesday.
