Sallie B. Howard School sophomore Samaria Miller has been named the Farris & Thomas Law Student-Athlete of the Week after placing in the top 10 in multiple events at the NCHSAA 1-A/2-A indoor track and field championships and maintaining an impressive 4.29 GPA.

The details

At the NCHSAA 1-A/2-A indoor championships, Miller placed eighth in the girls long jump and was part of the Sallie B. Howard 4x200-yard relay team that finished ninth. In addition to the long jump and relay, she also competes in the 55 and 300 dashes for the Eagles' indoor track team. For the outdoor season, Miller runs sprints, long jumps, and throws the discus, and may also try the high jump. Outside of track and field, Miller is also a standout volleyball player for Sallie B. Howard.
