The Phoenix Suns have made a couple of roster moves, waiving former 15th overall pick Cole Anthony and signing undrafted forward CJ Huntley to a two-way contract. Huntley, who went undrafted out of Appalachian State University, will have the chance to make his NBA debut with the Suns on Tuesday against the Sacramento Kings.
Why it matters
The Suns' roster moves come as they look to finalize their team for the remainder of the season. Huntley, an undrafted player from a smaller college program, will now get an opportunity to prove himself at the NBA level as the Suns' two-way player.
The details
The Suns first waived former 15th overall pick Cole Anthony. They then signed Jamaree Bouyea to a standard contract and filled their open two-way spot by agreeing to a deal with CJ Huntley. Huntley has been playing for the Suns' G-League affiliate, the Valley Suns, where he has averaged 14.5 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1 block per game while shooting 62% from the field and 36.4% from three.
