The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) has announced that registration is now open for its upcoming Pharmacy Ownership Workshop, taking place March 21-22 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The 2-day event is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of everything needed to effectively run and own a pharmacy location, including topics like the loan approval process, licensure agreements, business planning, and store design.
Why it matters
The workshop is open to pharmacists from all practice settings - including chain, hospital, managed care, mail-order, and independent pharmacies - as well as pharmacy students interested in one day owning their own pharmacy. With increasing challenges facing independent pharmacies, this workshop aims to give current and prospective owners the tools and knowledge to successfully start and operate their own pharmacy business.
The details
The Pharmacy Ownership Workshop will be held at the Omni Charlotte Hotel and is sponsored by McKesson, First Financial Bank, and Pharmacists Mutual Companies. The event will feature a team of expert speakers addressing major pain points for pharmacy owners, including the loan approval process, licensure agreements, creating a start-up checklist, writing an effective business plan, and designing an optimal store layout.
