A coalition of Charlotte organizations, including Roof Above, the Salvation Army Center of Hope, and the Hearts for the Invisible Charlotte Coalition, are working with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Emergency Management Office to provide emergency shelter and assistance due to severe winter weather hitting the region. Emergency weather protocols have been activated, and street teams are being deployed to encourage those in homeless encampments to seek shelter.

Roof Above's Day Services Center at 945 North College Street will also be operational from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is offering free rides to any of these shelter locations.
